Manage the wayfinding or signs in a museum?

We know how easy it is to get lost in museums—especially when trying to differentiate between ticketed and non-ticketed exhibits, find special collections, or locate facility amenities like cafés and restrooms. We also know how time-consuming and labor-intensive it is to keep track of all signs and replacements while juggling budgets, punch lists, and project deadlines. Using traditional tools like clipboards, cameras, spreadsheets, and printed location plans not only slows down the process but also increases the chances of human error and limits access to real-time updates.

FAQs

Are the sign points georeferenced?

Yes, signs placed on an exterior map in SignAgent will show latitude and longitude coordinates. The coordinates can also be exported to an excel message schedule.

How do I work with my outside consultants?

You can invite your outside consultants into SignAgent at the permission levels you select for them including project members or free read-only project viewers.

I currently inventory my signs in another database software. Can that information be imported into SignAgent?

Yes, if you can export all of that information in Excel format, it can be uploaded into SignAgent.

Where does SignAgent store my data?

With the exception of source sign templates in Adobe Illustrator, all SignAgent data is stored in the cloud in a central DB and can be accessed through your account authentication through a Google Chrome browser. SignAgent is hosted through AWS services and is TLS protected ensuring safe authentication and encryption of all data.

I'm responsible for a very large facility. How can I get started?

A free consultation is always the best place to start.

For existing signage, most large projects begin with an onsite site survey using our Mobile App. We can train you to do it, we can do it for you, or we can connect you with the company that can complete your survey.

If budget is an issue, you can also consider starting with a pilot project to prove the ROI for your internal decision makers.

We'd be happy to have a conversation with you to understand your specific needs.

Measure the effectiveness of your current wayfinding and signage program!

It may help to establish a baseline to understand the strengths and weaknesses of your wayfinding and signage program.

We created the Wayfinding Audit to help. It should take you just 5 or 10 minutes to complete.
